Why wasn’t Elum in Abe’s Exoddus?
Although Elums are hardy, they are lazy and even they would be hard pressed to find food in the Necrum Desert. Abe had to do without when he went to Necrum. In terms of game construction, Paul O’Connor describes Elum’s absence as a consequence of what he calls ‘RAM cramp’: There was no way we could load Abe, Elum, an enemy or two, and the moves & effects needed to do anything interesting all at the same time. Those few scenes where he works in Oddysee were carefully scripted and pretty limited when you break them down.
