Who is a candidate for NDC?
CRISIS: The unit is designed for adults in crisis who need short-term intensive evaluation, treatment or behavior management to stabilize acute or crisis situations. Appropriate referrals are individuals in imminent risk of danger to self or others (not requiring seclusion or restraint); people with mood or behavior disturbances requiring immediate assessment or those requiring medication management that cannot be achieved in a less restrictive setting. DETOX: A candidate for detox services is actively using alcohol or other street drugs. Opiate and benzodiazepine users may be treated; however eligibility for services is determined on a case-by-case-case basis.
