Warning: Drink responsibility especially if there are children around or water activities. According to the Center for Disease Control, (CDC) department of National Center for Injury Prevention, (NCIPC) Lifeguard Effectiveness Group. "Each year, about 4,000 people die from drowning in the United States. Drowning was a leading cause of unintentional injury death among all ages in 1998, and the second leading cause of unintentional injury death among children ages 1-14 that same year. Approximately 50-75% of drowning occur in open water such as oceans, lakes, rivers, and ponds. About 60% of drowning deaths among children occur in swimming pools."
