Who sets Elected Officials’ Salaries?
The Commission was created in 1987 by a constitutional amendment. The purpose for creating the Commission was to establish salaries that reflect the duties of the state’s elected officials and to remove political considerations from the process. The Commission is charged with setting the salaries of the elected officials in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches of government.
