Results of GIA’s major study on CE Diamonds was released in a 1989 Summer Article stating: • “(Enhancement) provides a much more desireable appearance overall” • “(Enhancement) very effective in improving the apparent clarity” • “Specific changes were often dramatic” • “Nothing inherently wrong with this or any other enhancement process provided it is always disclosed at every level of sale” IN A NUTSHELL, BUY, WEAR AND HAVE FUN! To date GIA certifies clarity enhanced diamonds where the enhancement is only a minor laser drill procedure. This enhancement is absolutely disclosed on the GIA report if the stone had that minor drill done. 99% of all GIA certified diamonds are not enhanced to any degree. There are verious reasons why GIA won’t (to date) do certification papers on CE diamonds.
