Can everyone remortgage?

No. If you’ve got insufficient equity in your home then you won’t be able to remortgage – so if your current mortgage is close to the value of your home, then you’ll find it hard to remortgage to get a better rate deal and it will be very difficult to raise extra cash. If you are behind with your mortgage payments, then you can’t usually remortgage.
