What is NTBackup?

0

NTBackup is the backup solution that is provided as an integral part of the Microsoft Operating System. There are many benefits to using Microsoft’s solution rather than opting for a third-party, sometimes costly, offering. It does, however, lack the ability to deliver its backup reports to interested parties and so needs to be actively monitored to confirm that all is well with your backups. This development provides a notification system that uses SMTP to deliver each backup report, on completion of the backup, to a number of configurable recipients. It was developed in order to overcome this minor omission and hopefully Microsoft will address this at some stage in the future, though NTBackup has been around since the early days of Windows NT. Now it is easy to peruse the backup report and dismiss it, or act upon it, as appropriate. You can build up a history as large as you would like to retain, within your mail system. No longer do you have to go through the process of running NTBa
