What is a trigger finger?
A trigger finger is a common condition that causes a painful, snapping of the finger when attempting to make a fist. The cause of trigger finger is due to swelling of the tendons in the hand. This swelling prevents the tendon from gliding normally, and it gets ‘hung up’ on the sheath that surrounds the tendon. Once enough force has built up, the tendon suddenly snaps into the sheath–this causes the trigger finger. Related: Cortisone Injections | Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Comments (0)See All Posts
