Is Inflation Under Wraps?
There’s been some talk in the media lately that strong U.S. growth and rising oil prices may cause a rise in the rate of inflation in the United States. In “Dallas Fed’s Fisher says US inflation under wraps” the Federal Reserve indicates that there is nothing to worry about: “Strong U.S. growth has put inflation pressures in the spotlight but they still appear to be under control, Richard Fisher, the new president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, said on Wednesday. “There is obviously always going to be concern at the Fed that we don’t let inflation raise its hideous head. But presently it looks like it is well contained,” he told reporters during a telephone conference call in his first media appearance since starting the job on April 4.” Comments are closed for this post.
