Pulse lets you gather logs from sources such as Windows, Unix/Linux, network devices such as Cisco and applications. Logs are received and alert rules run against the logs. EventTracker Pulse provides an alert console in addition to a variety of notifcation methods such as email/pager etc. Logs are then indexed, compressed and stored on the file system for later analysis. EventTracker Pulse includes a powerful search interface to look for interesting things in the stored events and the results of searches can be saved and exported. This capability is very useful for system/network administrators, IT Security staff, IT Managers, Helpdesk staff among others.
