MSN’s latest version of its IM program, Windows Live Messenger, has many keyboard shortcuts that can be used from the main Messenger window. Outlined below are the most widely used shortcut keys for this instant messaging program. Open a new conversation window to IM one of your Messenger contacts. A conversation window is the window in which you and a contact exchange instant messages. To begin a new IM conversation, click on a name in your contact list, located in the main Messenger window. Press “Enter” and a new conversation window will appear. Jump to a specific contact by using the first letter of a name. If you don’t want to scroll through your list, click on anyone in the list in the main Messenger window. Click the first letter of the name of your contact. You will be taken directly to all contacts listed under that letter. Delete or block a current contact.
