How fast is HyperStar?
The HyperStar 14 results in a focal ratio of f/1.9. This is more than 33 times faster than the standard focal ratio of f/11 and 13 times faster than f/7 (the effective focal ratio when using an f/6.3 focal reducer). This means that a 10-minute exposure at f/11 requires only 18 seconds with the HyperStar! Our tests show that impressive images can be obtained in as little as 3 seconds, and that hydrogen-alpha shots that might normally take hours, require as little as five minutes!
