What is a Malicious Link?
A malicious link is a URL or link pointing to a website hosting malware.This is one of the most popular way for infecting a website. Since the link itself does not contain malicious code it usually evades detection by traditional Malware or Anti Virus scanners. For ex. An iframe in HTML page containing the link to the malicious site is enough to download malicious content to the user’s system without the user knowing it. The website hosting malware could initiate drive-by-downloads i.e. which downloads malicious contents to the user’s system without their permission.
