Why a Hitchhiker Happening?
The purpose of a hitchhiker happening is to bring people together who appreciate mobility and freedom. We are a group of people who take what others see as great risks. As a result, we get to experience a side of life that offers an amazing perspective. The event allows us to come together and share stories, resources and learn how to be more proactive on the road. The workshops which are a part of any digihitch-sponsored Happening will give hitchhikers some tools to travel safer, further and with maybe a stronger sense of importance. The purpose of a Hitchhiker Happening is not to create hype or fill a book. It’s to connect. People who are thinking of coming only to be a part of some cool movement would be better off finding a bandwagon. What it comes down to is this: We are a group of people who are looking for something greater and further. We stick out our thumbs on the side of the road and hope to make the connection that will give us a better sense of ourselves, our fellow humans
