• Kirra Reef is largely covered by sand for the same reasons that Kirra Beach is very wide (see FAQ 5). • As the volume of sand currently lying between Greenmount and Kirra disperses, the reefs will become more exposed. • The reef should recover progressively from now on as the sand volume disperses.
