How Do You Sew A Canopy For A Bed?
A bed canopy is a great way to make your bedroom décor romantic and elegant. While you may think this accessory is something you must purchase, that’s not necessarily the case. If you have basic sewing skills, you can sew a canopy for a bed. All it takes is some fabric, some time and your design skills. Choose a short, sturdy curtain rod to use. Use the stud finder to locate the ceiling joist directly over the center of the bed. If you don’t find one exactly centered, you can mount the curtain rod with drywall anchors. Mount the curtain rod in the ceiling above the center of the headboard of your bed. Also install the curtain tiebacks on either side of the headboard. Put them 48 inches from the floor. Measure how much fabric you need to make the canopy with a piece of string or measuring tape. Start at the floor on one side of the bed. Measure to the first tieback and on up to the curtain rod. Continue measuring to the second tieback and back to the floor. Add 24 inches to this measure
