Does Relais support NCIP?
Relais is in the process of implementing support for NCIP. The initial phase for this work is the ability to look up and retrieve patron information from the integrated library system. To date this has been implemented and in production with the following: • SirsiDynix Unicorn (Lookup User and Lookup User Response) The second phase for this work is the ability to share circulation information between Relais and integrated library systems (ILS). This will allow ILL staff to update requests as loans in Relais; the loan record will then be passed over to the ILS using NCIP. This includes both requests from patrons as well as requests from other libraries. Similar approaches will be reviewed with customers of other integrated library systems such as Voyager. Relais International has had discussions with regarding NCIP interoperability testing with Voyager. To date we are awaiting cooperation from ExLibris.
