How Many US Presidents Have There Been?
There have been a total of 43 US presidents till now. The current one Being George W. Bush. The head of the states for US is called the president. The post of the President was created after the authorization of United States Constitution in 1789. The President serves as the chief decision-making personality for the Government. The second article of the United States Constitution institutes the President as the Commander-in-chief of the armed forces and specifies powers given only to the president. The President and The Vice-President are there for a term period of four years in the office. The twenty second amendment states that no one can have more then two terms in office (This amendment came into effect from 1951). The contemporary President of United States and his family is protected by the US secret service agencies. All the ex- Presidents and their families were protected by the secret agencies until the President’s death.
