How To Create A Budget Based On Existing Categories?
Hello, I’m using Money 2003 Business Edition. I am trying to create a budget. I’m using Money purely for tracking business accounts. I would like to be able to pick my budget categories based on my existing spending categories classified as business categories. However, I don’t know how to do that. For example, in my budget’s “Expenses” screen, I click the “Add” button. This gives me the option to add a new budget group or to add a new category to an existing budget group. If I add a new subcategory to an existing budget group, the dialog box only displays my personal categories–not business ones. Obviously, the Money budget tool was designed for personal budgets, not business budgets (despite MS saying that the product competes with QuickBooks). Anyway, I’ve found that I can change a category to the “Personal” type, add it to the budget, and then change it back to “Business” type. Is there an easier way, or am I using the wrong software package?
