The Petreus Report was the last competent count of Iraqi civilian deaths, placing the number around 80,000 from 2003-2006. That number is a little inflated because it includes ALL causes of death except by natural causes (meaning it includes things like car accidents). About 75% of that number can be accounted for by terrorists killing Iraqis, and about 30% of that number is dead Iraqi police and Iraqi army. Of the remaining 25%, most of them are dead terrorists. ********************* Just to show you how absurd opinion polls can be, Johns Hopkins University went to Baghdad in 2004 and conducted an “opinion poll” of Baghdad residents to try to guess at the number of dead in Iraq. At that time, they put the number at around 600,000. This is probably the most embarrassing (and well-publicized) mis-use of an opinion poll I’ve ever seen. The way the science works, they use their small sample to project a number for the country. So these idiots went to the most violent city in the country,
Big. Anyone who is willing to look at the facts will see how we were hoodwinked for money and power. It has cost, and is going to cost us dearly, far, far more than seen so far. Undeniable facts: There were no Weapons of Mass Destruction. Iraq was a beaten country and represented no threat whatsoever to the region. There we no terrorists in Iraq, absolutely none. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Not a single Iraqi was involved in any way, shape, or form with 9/11. It was almost all Saudi Arabians. Tens of thousands of Iraqis have died violently since we rolled across the border, many, many, many of them women and children under twelve. Except for the 4000 US troops, it’s impossible to get an accurate number. A good estimate would be around 120,000. This is roughly 40,000 more than official estimates, but 480,000 less than the John Hopkins estimate. It would be too many if it were ten considering the circumstance. So why are we there? It’s exactly as Eisenhower and Kennedy feared, and
