what is a Traditional Balinese Massage?
Balinese massage techniques are gentle and aim to make the person receiving the massage feel relaxed and calm. The techniques include skin folding, kneading, and stroking. It combines deep tissue, accupressure, and reflexology techniques along with massaging aromatherapy oils into the skin throughout the massage. The receiver’s blood, oxygen and energy flow are said to increase as a result of the treatment. Balinese massage is based on techniques rooted in Ayurvedic oil-based massage brought to Bali several centuries ago from India and is similar to Thai (yoga) massage and Shiatsu in that energy channels of Qi are activated by engaging accupressure points in the body.
