Fortunately for you, 1990 is an above average SAT score. You can get into many prestigious colleges. You shouldn’t worry about wasting your time with state collleges, unless that was your preference. However, you must also make sure that you have a noteworthy GPA. If you wanted a quick comparison, a friend of mine recieved an SAT score of 2000 and had a weighted GPA of 4.2 in high school. He is currently a student at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Or, on the other hand, I recieved an SAT score of 2100 and had a weighted GPA of 3.9 in high school. I am currently a student at the University of Southern California (USC). Both UCLA and USC rank amoung the top 25 universities in the United States. Therefore, you should feel safe when applaying to colleges within the range of the 10th and 50th top ranking schools in the nation. If you wanted to get into the top 10, you’ll have to pull off a 2300+ SAT score and 3.9+ RAW unweighted GPA.
