The role of a job coach, or career coach, is to meet with a client, generally on an on-going basis, until the client has successfully gotten a new job.First ResponsibilityThe first responsibility of a job coach is to help a client determine his or her career goals.Second responsibilityWith career goals in place, the role of the job coach is to design a plan to make those goals a reality. The plan can include certain classes the client should take, networking events the client should attend or apprenticeship/internship positions the client should apply for.Third ResponsibilityThe job coach should help improve a client’s resume and cover letter to highlight a clients skills.Fourth ResponsibilityDuring the job search process, a job coach motivates a client to stay on task with job searching, and makes sure the client is applying for the appropriate job openings in relation to their career goals.Final responsibilityThe final role of the job coach is to prepare the client for the interview.
