Who designed our union jack flag?
The Union flag (or Union Jack) is a combination of the English, Scottish and Irish flags. The English flag is that of a red cross on a white background. The Scottish flag is that of a white diagonal cross in a blue background. The Irish flag is that of a red diagonal cross on a white background. The Union flag was accepted as it is today in 1801, after Ireland joined the United Kingdom.
