How To Set Up A Turntable

0

In order to set up a turntable you will need to connect the phone cartridge to the tone arm (hardware should be supplied) by centering it on the end of the tone arm and securing with screws. The phone cartridge is the housing for the stylus or needle. Next connect the wires on the phone cartridge to the terminals on back. There should be four wires white, blue, red and green. White is left channel, blue is left channel ground, red is right channel and green is right channel ground. (check your manual as some turntables are wired differently) After securing the cartridge, set the tracing force indicator to zero, and remove the stylus cover, next unlock the tone arm and move the counter balance until the tonearm floats.Set the tracking force based on the cartridge specs. If you turntable comes with anti-skating (stylus slides across record) then adjust according to instructions in your manual. Next you want to connect the right/left channel to your audio equipment to the phone input jack
