What issues does MEChA work on?
MEChA has historically been involved in issues concerning labor justice, immigration rights, educational equity, and cultural awareness. We help organize and fund annual events such as the Csar Chvez Commemoration, the Raza Day High School Conference, the Da de Los Muertos Celebration, La Gran Posada, Zoot Suit Week, and various other activities. Last year, MEChA led the Webb Ranch Labor Campaign; worked on the Code of Conduct Labor Campaign, and the Books Not Bombs Anti-War Demonstration; and sent members on a Stanford delegation to Washington D.C. for the Affirmative Action Supreme Court cases.
