How is Caphosol dosed?
During cancer treatment Caphosol is indicated four to ten times per day if experiencing pain from mucositis. Write for four boxes at one time which represents a four times per day usage (30 rinses per box). This equates to a one-month supply, based on four rinses per day. If you are using Caphosol for the treatment of permanent or temporary dry mouth conditions, you may prescribe Caphosol from two times per day or more. You should recommend rinsing in the evening and in the morning after patients brush their teeth.
