How many shops are there in Okpo?
Okpo is a small town with a good selection of shops providing most everyday goods: clothing, fancy goods, household goods and food stuffs. There are three or four medium-sized supermarkets which together supply most peoples needs. There are several small bakeries selling a selection of breads and cakes. There is a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables available but these tend to be seasonal and expensive, more so in the department stores than from the market where you purchase things in larger quantities. Chicken, pork and fish are the main meats eaten in Korea. These are readily available and most of the department stores sell some beef. There is a butcher in the town who sells particularly good beef. Korean Beef is expensive and some people prefer to buy imported meat. Items not available in Okpo can often be bought in Pusan. There is a regular ferry service from Okpo to Pusan, weather permitting.
