WHAT IS A MAIL BOMBER?
A mail bomber is a computer program designed to flood user e-mail boxes with excessive amount of e-mail messages or letters with extremely large attached files. Such messages usually contain different advertising information and therefore are being sent for marketing and spamming purposes. A mail bomber is not a parasite or viral application. However, its activity not only is annoying, but also affects user computers and ISP mail servers by degrading their performance and severely decreasing Internet connection speed. A mail bomber can be installed on any computer connected to the Internet. It usually runs not on the affected system, but on the hacker’s PC. However, a mail bomber can also be installed on a compromised computer in order to use it as an illegal mail server. Mail bombers are divided into legitimate applications and tools designed by hackers or spammers for their needs.
