To avoid this on Craigslist, only allow people to contact you by phone. It really does help filter out the weirdos. When you list your phone number, be sure to spell it out. For example: nine one one. Or, to really avoid the non-english speakers and phone spammers: NINEoneONE If you would rather not have people contact you by phone (which is a mistake by the way considering that this is a rather large transaction and you will have to meet face-to-face eventually), here are some email tips. Spell out your email address in the listing like so: john DOT doe AT yahoomail DOT com. And also select the option to HIDE your email address from viewers (not to anonymize it, which doesn’t work anyway…you still get a bunch of spam). Hope this helps. Good luck on your trade.
