How to Prepare Artichoke Hearts?
First, trim the points from the ends of the leaves; cut approximately an inch off of the top of the artichoke; cut off some of the stem and leave only about an of it on the artichoke; rinse off what’s left and put it in a pot with about two inches of water that has a bay leaf, a clove of garlic, and a slice of lemon added to it. Place a steaming basket in the pan and after it comes to a boil, cook it till the outer leaves can be pulled of easily. This will take anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes.
