The “Cost of Ownership” includes the cost of buying a product, installing it and the cost of the measurement errors that would arise from using it. The cost associated with measurement errors can often be overlooked in a purchase decision. Defining “Cost of Ownership” is an attempt to quantify these costs along with the purchase and installation costs.
