Advances in scientific knowledge, improved communication systems, and technology have certainly brought us many benefits. But the complexity, over-stimulation, and pace of living in the modern world also places demands on us that can lead to exhaustion, sleeping problems, illness, depression, chronic pain, and unhappiness. These demands can also deprive us of the deeper connection with ourselves and our experiences that that we all need to enjoy and thrive in life.
