Indeed, wax presents limitations in displaying the piece and cannot withstand the test of time, as can fiberglass resin. Although there are additional steps in using fiberglass and a heightened struggle when making rigid material look like skin, the sculpture can be taken anywhere in the world and displayed wherever the artist chooses. In comparison to bronze, fiberglass resin is a far more challenging material to work with, as the expectancy of realism is greater.
