How do I use a Stanley stud finder?
Calibrate the Stud FinderHold the stud finder flat against the surface of the wall, making sure not to place it over a stud, metal or wet paint. Locate the activation switch on the right side of the unit. Press and hold the activation switch for the remainder of the operation. The word “READY” will flash on the screen and an audible tone will sound. When the unit has finished calibration, the word “READY” will stop flashing and the tone will silence.Locate the StudSlide the stud finder slowly across the wall. As the stud finder nears the edge of a stud, the screen will indicate the relative position.
