How Do You Fly A Hot Air Balloon?
• Buy, rent or borrow a Hot Air Balloon. • Ask the landowner if you can use your hot air balloon on their property. • Organize the Chase Crew. They follow the balloon on the ground in a vehicle with radio communications with the pilot. • Know where the wind is blowing! That is where the balloon will go! • Take off by inflating the envelope with the burner. • Control the height of the balloon in the air by changing the intensity of the burner. Keep the radio handy just in case something goes wrong. • Find a landing spot on a flat area away from tree’s and water. • Land by gently lowering the intensity of the burner. • Meet the Chase Crew at the landing spot. • Pack the balloon into the chase vehicle and everyone returns to the landing spot. • Thank the landowner.
