Frank Vanderlip was a famous financier who lived from 1864 to 1937. He was the Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury in President McKinley’s administration. Later he was president of National City Bank of New York (now Citibank) and served of the boards of many large corporations including: National City Bank, Nation Bank of Commerce, Farmers’ Loan & Trust Company of New York, Riggs National Bank of Washington, Union Pacific Railroad, United States Reality and Improvement Co. and the Consolidated Gas Company. He was also the author of many important texts on domestic and international finance. A: George Mairs Van Derlip lived from 1826 to 1903. He was instrumental in the creation of the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) in America. A: Narcissa Vanderlip, born Narcissa Cox, was the wife of Frank Vanderlip.
