How Do You Run A Relay Race Using A Cone?
Elementary students always love relay races. This is just another variation that you can use with your classroom. Start by marking the starting line and turn around line with either cones or chalk. Show the students how they will be moving with the cone. Step on the bottom of the cone and squeeze your feet together. In order to move you have to jump and not lose control of the cone. Hop down to the mark, turn around and jump back. If the cone falls out from your feet you have to stop and put it back. Once the student gets back to the finish line they hand it off to the next person and continue until all students have completed. Once students have finished their turn they are to sit on the side away from the other players. This way you know who has had a turn and noone gets in the way.
