How do I string a clothesline?
LocationChoose an area that is large enough to accommodate the length of the clothesline. Make sure that the location is sunny and not in an area where you will have a lot of strong wind because you do not want your clothes blown off the line. Locate your clothesline on level ground so the line does not slope.PostsPre-drill holes in a 2-by-4-inch post for eye bolts on top. Screw in four bolts per side. Attach the 2-by-4-inch wooden beam to the top of two 4-by-4-inch beams with wooden screws. String the clothesline through the eye bolts and tie.DiggingDig two holes for the posts, about 10 to 12 feet apart. The holes must be 2 1/2 feet deep for each post. Raise the posts and place them in the holes. Make sure that the holes are in a straight line across from each other. Break bricks and fill in bricks and dirt alternating in the hole until the holes are filled.
