What is Hands-On Science?
In today’s world the study of science needs to be more than the rote memorization of key “science” vocabulary words or instruction driven by textbooks. Our Science program gives students the opportunity for hands-on experiences to observe, record data, make hypotheses, and draw conclusions about the world around them, and it’s fun! We believe that a ‘hands-on’ science program provides rich opportunities for interdisciplinary and cooperative student learning. It emphasizes “real world” activities, and has the potential for parent and community involvement. Science Kit Program The Puyallup School District provides the following kit program and resources as part of the science curriculum for K-6.
