Hormones get blamed for everything. First they are blamed for the melodramas of high school and now they are taking the blame for the ailments of aging. Is there anything to blaming hormones for age-related problems? Sort of. It is true that many hormone levels decline as we age. The most dramatic is the changes in estrogen before and after menopause. Testosterone decreases in men, but not as drastically and never dropping below “normal” levels. Other hormones also drop.
