Why no bikinis and a dress code?
Modesty is our policy. We are aware that the girls are developing and beginning to experience being female. Privacy and respect for one’s body helps the girls form a positive attitude towards femininity. Girls change in individual quarters, follow a bathroom etiquette and are encouraged to dress according to the occasion (shoes in the dining room, no tank tops at Mass). In this way they learn that the body is a means of expression and it should speak the truth of human dignity and the beauty of femininity at all moments. Counselors encourage the girls to reflect in their conversations reverence for the body and to speak positively of virginity as a gift to be offered in marriage. Modesty means enjoying freedom within limits. A one piece bathing suit is one of those limits.
