What causes tyre blow outs?
There can be several reasons for a tyre blow out, with modern tires the number of blow out have reduced greatly. First thing that can cause a blow out is damage to the side wall of the tire, typically hitting a kerb will cause a bubble to form in the side wall. This bubble is formed when the layers of the tire separate and air gets in between them. The second most common reason for a blow out is tire pressure, if the tire is soft the side wall flexes more than its is designed to. Heat is generated in the flexing and can result in the side wall splitting. Best thing to do is check the tire pressure once a week, at the same time check the tire to make sure that there is no damage. Ja.
