Where Is Repulsion From?
Repulsion was an early metal band that originated from the city of Flint, Michigan in the United States of America. They were classified under the genre of Death Metal, Grindcore and Black Metal. Their innovative songs were very important to the development of this particular genre. Repulsion was formed by Matt Olivo and Scott Carlson, earlier known as Tempter. The band used to cover music by the Bay Area Thrash Metal bands like Metallica and Slayer. Repulsion were highly influenced by Venom, Slayer, Hellhammer Slaughter (Canada) and Discharged. Repulsion has also recorded various covers of bands like Napalm Death and Entombed. Repulsion was one of the first bands that introduced the employment of Blast Beats, the drummer ‘Dave “Grave” Hollingshead’ was very influential in the circuit as he was one of the first drummers that pulled of the blast beats to perfection.
