While most strands of HPV will not affect pregnancy, and no strands directly cause infertility, problems can arise from cervical cancer or procedures done to remove warts caused by HPV. These problems can include decreased cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to reach the egg, and a weakened cervix, which increases chances of miscarriage. In advanced cases of cervical cancer, the entire uterus sometimes needs to be removed, eliminating the possibility of becoming pregnant. Does HPV Cause Infertility in Men? While HPV does not cause infertility in men, some studies have shown a link between HPV and a lower sperm count. Treatments While ther
