Why does the cat keep biting?
Kittens play rough. They use their teeth and claws to tackle and nip and grapple. When kittens play with their litter-mates, their fur keeps from them from getting hurt. However, when kittens play with their human owners, their sharp claws and teeth hurt. They need to learn they need to be gentle when they play =] The most important thing to remember is NEVER reprimand your cat. Cats are clever animals, and they learn best through positive reinforcement. If your kitten behaves in a way you do not like, such as biting, the best thing to do is ignore her! When your kitten bites, stop what you’re doing immediately, and ignore her for five minutes or so. Do not even make eye-contact. Your kitten will soon learn that hurting you will not get her any attention 🙂 Shouting “OW!” then ignoring her also works. (Tip: Don’t play with him using your hands.
