Why Are Bats Important Animals?
Although most people think of vampires when bats come around, it is important to remember how important these mammals are to the environment. The 40 species of bats living in North America are flying mammals (the only in the world) and can eat 500 or more flying insects in a single night. When bats enter homes, you shouldn’t be frightened; they are only looking for safe places to roost during the daytime.
