Why study dance at university?
Historically, dancers and other artists too, have attended conservatories or studied with companies dedicated to the practice of their art forms. A university Arts education prepares you in a similar way and provides additional opportunities to gain understanding in a variety of knowledge areas both within the arts and across university disciplines. You will gain competencies in critical and creative thinking, oral and written communication, principles of research, abstract reasoning, interpretative and assessment skills. You may also gain access to professional studies and extended graduate studies.
