Why using water-based adhesives?
Using water-based glue is a sensitive issue for our shoe factories, especially those that produce quality shoes, and have survived the shift in major productions from Europe and the far east. The use of glue, water, previously considered incompatible with the demands of mechanized assembly of footwear, especially for time necessary for the glue to dry, but allows for far better results thermoplastic glue. In fact the water-based glue results in a great improvement in the quality of the final product, because it applies a “veil” of uniform water-based glue, reducing the thickness between insole and upper giving greater flexibility to the shoe and an improvement in contours of the shoe. This is also a must for sport shoes manufacturers. As far as costs are concerned wide decrease on various aspects can be pointed out further to an easiness and reduction of post-assembly operations (roughing, pounding and scouring).
