How Do You Make Modelling Clay People?
• Take a strip of the modelling clay and roll in to a walnut sized ball. • Next pinch the top of the ball to create the head. • Then use your thumb to push in the middle of the large ball to half its thickness. Be careful not to make a hole right through the middle like a doughnut! • Like with the head, pinch out the arms and shape until long and about 5-8mm wide. • Now, with one hand, hold the belly of the man. With your free hand, use your thumb to push up the bottom to make legs. Keep on modeling until they are long but the same thickness of the arms. • To create the feet just use your thumb and index finger to flatten the ends of his legs. Be careful not to make them to thin! • Next bend them up so they are in the correct position. • If hes a bit to wide around the waist just simply push him in. • Finally, smooth him out using your thumb and there you go! All you need to do now is position him to give it character!
